So many beautiful people doing Makeup Tutorials...

Wow, it's been a while since I sat down and watched several hours of makeup tutorials on You-tube, via my Tivo, but I did it again tonight. Now I remember my hesitation on doing the same. All of these women, big or small, black, white and everything in between are all so very young and so very beautiful! Not only could I not hold a candle to their beauty, but I am much older then they are, I don't have any fancy makeup (and my collection is very small).... not to mention that I don't have a web cam or a video camera. lol Now I see why I don't run out and buy one right away for my favorite "me time" activity... yes I still am that little girl inside that loves to play with makeup and play dress up, although now I hide to do it for the most part.

Well that is all I actually wanted to say in this early morning post, just a note, basically to remind myself why I am not on a video doing fun things... it's because I would possibly never post them out of embarrassment. I mean, wow have you seen their collections... really have you? I am worried however on how these ladies are managing to keep up such an extensive collection and still manage to throw them out when the time on there cosmetics is up! Most of their makeup being gone ever 2 years... I doubt it!!!! Come on now gals!!! I am speaking to the pros and armatures alike, you really need to take a deep breath, and find what works for your personal collection and stick with as much as you can manage to give up in their allotted expiration time from open to spoiled and possibly bacteria laden. Don't try to convince me that your Mom's and Dad's would be willing to replenish all that EVEN IF it were only every 2 years... lets face it mascaras, foundation, lipstick and glosses... they get replaced all the sooner then the 2 year mark. I will locate my chart on my desktop computer later and edit my post here to show the real time limits on opened makeup.

Am I jealous of what they have? HECK YA!! I am a former Cosmetologist and I love love love everything beauty, and would love to do nothing more then sit in front of a makeup mirror and play for months on end with everything, if I were given the chance. Now if only I could find a way to earn some extra coins online, then perhaps I would consider buying some of these expensive highly pigmented and gorgeous makeup, brushes and the omg so beautiful eyeshadows. We will see if my crafts or my paintings may someday sell and make this poor gal a few coins... then we will see. Until then rest assured that I will not be scaring off all of you and your children any time soon my imaginary viewers of the internet.

Good night... errrr Morning (yup sure enough after 2am) from this gal who is in enough pain that she cannot sleep, but who got a moments escape watching videos from the comfort of her high back loveseat (supportive for a bad/painful neck).

It's been a week or so now since I built this blog and I am so happy to see that I have had a few visitors. Thank you so much for stopping by.

   I just added a QR Code to my Blog so that it can be easily accessed via smart phones, I found the instructions here: http://www.walkernews.net/2010/02/28/how-to-add-qr-code-in-blogger-or-blogspot/.

    What is a QR Code? The QR Code is a little strange black and white square with the squigglys,(see my sample picture above). Some sites online (and even some store bought products) are using this so you can easily visit their websites without typing in a long URL.

   

   How to use this QR Code: 

1. First, you need a smart phone with Internet access. 
2. Next you will need an application to read the code. I just bought a Samsung Vibrant (Currently a BOGO at T-Mobile, what a fantastic deal on these smart phones by the way) and I downloaded a "bar code" reading app, that works for Android based phones. The one I grabbed is called "BarcodeS" , it was free in the "Marketplace" (probably T-Mobile Marketplace) and it not only reads bar codes (and checks online for best prices) but it reads QR Codes as well.  There are many more applications, I am sure that will read this, I just named the one from personal experience. ANYHOW (now you see why I have a Blog called Riah Rambles)
3. And finally all you need to do is use your Application by aiming your camera at the QR Code... wait a moment as it reads it and Wolla, you should be able to go to the very page you were viewing on your Computer or in a pamphlet or on packaging etc... Nice and easy huh? Yup it's that easy!

Now I must go onto my other Blogs to add the html code in for the QR Codes...wish me luck, it's a painful day and I am a bit distracted with my terrible pain level right now.

What is Beauty

Lets start with the Definition of beauty from the link above. I shall be concentrating on aesthetic beauty for the most part... but from time to time I will be posting about beauty from the inside as well, as this is, to me, the most beautiful and important asset that anyone could have. I find that when a persons personality is so very lovely, I cannot describe the person by looks... because it's their very soul that shines a beautiful light.

I find it disturbing that girls and women alike compare themselves to airbrushed models who are an unhealthy and unrealistic size zero. So lets work with what we have, and work on the beauty within since this is the beauty that truly lasts as we age.

Hi there... welcome to the newest of my Blog attempts, The Beauty Bloggery. Here I intend to share with you fun beauty hints, tips and tricks as well as products reviews and recommendations... be it my own or be it from around the web.

Please have patience with me as I am both Riah Rambles (it's my Rambling that can get out of hand) and I am disabled in chronic pain and sometimes it may be a while between posts. But I hope that this blogging thing here on my very favorite subject, will become second nature and I will be flagging thing around the Internet for you to see, when I am unable to blog anything for myself.
